Lauren Pirie is a Toronto-based artist working in a range of media and scale, from intricate ink drawings to large-scale murals and sculptural installations. Her practice explores environments in relation to interconnection, desire, and healing; both as themes in her own artwork and through collaborating with other artists. This year, her work was shown at Maake Projects in Pennsylvania, Mayten’s Projects in Toronto in collaboration with Jah Grey, and at PADA Studios and Gallery in Lisbon, Portugal, where she is currently in residence through December. Pirie’s upcoming public installation for ArtworxTO: Toronto’s Year of Public Art 2021–2022 will be installed in Spring 2022.
